Illegal gambling operation in Lansing Michigan

LANSING – Five women face felony charges in connection with an alleged illegal gambling operation that ran under a false storefront in South Lansing.

One of the women — Li Hua Deng — owned and managed the casino, according to court testimony from Special Agent James May, an investigator for Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette’s office. Deng allegedly hired the other women.

Illegal gambling Raids in Muskegon Michigan

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A business owner faces up to a decade in prison for setting up an illegal gambling operation at his Muskegon internet café.

An Ingham County jury last week found 49-year-old James Scott Postema guilty of conducting an unlicensed and illegal gambling operation at Triple Cherries Internet Café LLC, located at 1930 Apple Ave.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board says authorities raided Postema’s business and Muskegon home in August 2016, taking money, bank and credit union account information, money orders and computer equipment tied to the illegal operation.

Legality of internet cafes in Lenoir County

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. – As soon as drivers enter Lenoir County on Highway 11, they’re greeted by large, flashing and colorful signs.
The signs advertise sweepstakes cafes, four of them along a three-mile stretch of this highway. They’re places cafe owner Janice Thompson believes get a bad rap. “The people who judge and have negative opinions of cafes are people who have never been to one,” she said. Planning records indicate 14 sweepstakes cafes operate in Lenoir County. But in surrounding counties like Pitt, Craven and Onslow, they’re banned because the North Carolina General Assembly outlawed them back in 2010.

Robbery at internet cafe in Belleview Florida

The incident took place at the Lucky Lady Internet Cafe at 5713 SE Abshier Blvd. at 1:52 a.m. Sunday.

BELLEVIEW – An internet cafe here was the scene of a shooting and an attempted robbery early Sunday, according to officials with the Belleview Police Department.

Internet cafe Bust includes Kent Ohio police captain

Everyone wants a piece of the pie. LOL

A captain with the Kent Police Department and his wife were arrested and charged in connection with internet cafe raids that took place throughout Lorain County last month.

James Cole, 52, of Stow, and his wife, Audrey Cole, 45, of Stow, were included in the 10 secret indictments unsealed Wednesday. Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will has said 55 indictments were returned by a grand jury in connection to the illegal casino gaming raids.

Alleged internet gambling cafe raided in Tavares

TAVARES, Fla. – Tavares police raided an internet gambling café Monday afternoon, seizing cash and computers.

Police served a warrant at “Dreamers” along South Duncan Drive in the Dora Canal Plaza off State Road 19.

Police said they’re tired of these businesses opening up in Tavares, since this is the second one that has been raided in the past few months.
